When you think back about your childhood years, I would bet some of your greatest memories include spending time with the family pet. A pet can be a wonderful addition to any family, if it is the right type of pet for your family.  A special needs child can benefit greatly from having a pet. Having a pet teaches your special needs child how to be responsible.
